Meet Sarah McGuire-Mendoza, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Hello! I'm Sarah, and I'm glad you're here. Sometimes we just feel stuck, overwhelmed, and lost in the flow. Therapy is a place where you can learn to get back in control of how you think and act, even in the face of things we can't change. When we work on what we can control, we often start to feel differently about things we can't control. This allows you to start living your life again, and being a version of yourself that you're happy with.

I specialize in working with adults dealing with anxiety, panic, stress, and chronic medical issues or pain. I work with you to learn new skills and find a path towards feeling like yourself again, finding hope and growth as we go.

Choosing therapy--choosing change--is a big step. Anything new can be scary, but I'm here to help you through this process. We'll work together to find a path and a pace that feels right to you.

I offer secure, HIPAA compliant Telehealth sessions so you can make your mental health a priority in a way that works for your life, health, and schedule. I am licensed to provide therapy for anyone residing in New York State or Florida.
How Can I Help?
Great question! Here's some more information:
Person Centered
What we focus on and how we approach change will be tailored to what feels best to you as an individual. My goal is for you to feel safe, heard, and respected in our sessions.
Tell Me More
I'm a therapist that enjoys talking with you, and will participate in our conversations. I believe therapy is a team effort, and we will work together towards your goals.
Evidence Based Approaches
I am well versed in evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Chronic Pain and Medical Conditions
While we can't change your diagnosis, we can choose to move through it differently. You can work towards accepting what's happening, respond to it differently, and live well.
Anxiety
We work on skills to change how you think and how you respond, which shifts your whole relationship with anxiety.
Stress
Sometimes we just need support, but we will also work to figure out what you can change, and learn new coping skills for navigating your life.
